Savage Beauty . . .

So as this year is quickly drawing to a close, it is only getting closer to 2015 which is bringing one of the most highly anticipated exhibitions to the V&A. Yes of course it is Alexander McQueen's Savage Beauty retrospective. I personally cannot wait. As I have mentioned before I am a huge Alexander McQueen fan and have been since his early days. An incredible talent he along with designer Vivienne Westwood inspired me to study fashion design at University and his legacy continues to inspire me.

McQueen has so many memorable collections and pieces that it is so hard to put them all together but the Farfetch team have managed to do it! In this infographic they have managed to put together fashion illustrations depicting some of his most memorable shows in chronological order, which really shows McQueen's fashion evolution throughout his too short a career.

My personal favourite was the show that he put together with milliner Philip Treacy in memory of their dear friend Isabella Blow, who sadly died shortly before McQueen himself. This show was all the more memorable as it was planned and constructed with love for their dear departed friend. Showing McQueen's Spring / Summer 2008 collection named 'La Dame Bleue'. If you listen closely you can hear that Isabella Blow talking on the track. It is my favourite as it paired two of the most talented craftsmen together and boy was it a show to remember!

What is your favourite McQueen Moment?

The exhibition opens on March 14th 2015 and closes on July 19th 2015, but is already the talk of the town and it is still months away!
I've recently bought my tickets and would recommend you doing so too, as boy oh boy are they selling out quickly, there are currently no weekend tickets available online for the month of March.

You don't want to miss out on this one I can promise you that!

The Little Posh Dress . . .

Last night I was treated with a glass of bubbly and a tasty mini cupcake by the welcoming ladies at Leggera Nell'Aria on the King's Road London, for their Keep it Fair in What you Wear Event. Showing a large array of eco-friendly designers and products, with two DJ's blasting out some amazing tunes it was a great night.

It was during this event that I met the lovely ladies from The Little Posh Dress Company. I just loved their dresses! Since 2012 this company have been making these stunning handmade dresses, see below, in wonderful patterns and fabrics. All dresses are designed in one style that you can see flatters all of our figures, regardless to size and shape, what could be better! In a style that can also be worn to any occasion from a day at the races, to a day at the office, these wonderful dresses will take you where you need to go. There is also only a limited number of each dress ever made so you can enjoy the exclusivity of your Little Posh Dress.

When speaking to the lovely owner, we joked that about how difficult it is for ladies with larger busts, like myself, to find the perfect dress to help contain, so to speak, our assets and these dresses really are incredible as you can adjust the tie at the front to allow for your bust and to make it a perfect fit for yourself! She also went on to say that for ladies with a smaller bust it helps accentuate your natural bust shape and leaves you with a stunning silhouette.

Another lovely bonus is that they are all made in Britain!  So go have a look at these great dresses, I would also like to point out that these dresses will look good on any lady regardless of age, shape or individual style there is something for everyone's tastes! My personal favourite is this red polka dot one below!

For the smarter occasions they also sell satin versions of their dress in a range of rich colours, I saw a young lady wearing the red satin last night she looked sensational! So make sure to look at those too!

I cannot wait to see what they come up with next!
To go and see their full range click here

Thanks for having me to the lovely people at Leggera Nell' Aria for being wonderful and welcoming hosts and to Calico Adventures for the invite!

What do you think of these dresses?

New Brand Alert . . .

A new Jewellery Brand has been brought to my attention and I am in love! Now LindseyMarie has only just launched, but it already has the most amazing range of jewellery ready for you to buy. As you know I'm rather partial to a ring or two, and LindseyMarie's Laura ring is definitely going to be a favourite of mine! Have a look for yourself!

Green Onyx Vermeil
Moonstone Vermeil
LB Topaz Vermeil Ring
Purple Vermeil Ring
My top four rings in gold vermeil, so what do you think? I love the simplicity of the design, the colours and choices of the stones are brilliant. These pieces are part of a collection called the Mirabelle, which features fun, bright and elegant pieces for spring and summer as far as I am concerned. The stones seen in these rings are set into vermeil or sterling silver bands (see my picks below) and I really do think they are something special. They are the kind of rings that one can wear at work, as they are not too in your face, or out and about think about wearing these and catching the gem stones in the summer sun! Stunning!

My top four sterling silver rings are . . .

Blue Topaz Silver Ring
Lapis-lazuli Silver Ring
Turquoise Silver Ring
Carnelian Silver Ring

LindseyMarie make the Laura rings in a lot more colours, these are just my favourites. I love blue topaz ring in silver perfect for adding a little bling to your outfit, this ring is sure to glint in the summer sun! The Lapis-lazuli stone ring is so unusual, the rough look of the stone, and in a dark midnight blue colour this is a conversation starter piece. The Turquoise and Camelian pieces would look great on tanned fingers, I think everybody who loves rings needs one of these if not more!

Other stones you can choose from include black onyx, green onyx, rose quartz, labradorite, green amethyst to name but a few.
Now this Laura style ring is priced at £82, now for a good quality ring that's made from vermeil or sterling silver I would say that it is an amazing price even for the likes of me. I really love these rings and I'm craving them in a variety of colours as you can see from my choices. Remember the rings shown above are only my favourites and top picks, there are actually 17 different combo's to choose from!
