Get your Wellies Ready!

So it is coming into festival season yet again here in England and abroad, have you started getting ready for them yet?
Sadly I'm missing out this year as I didn't have any money when tickets went on sale, very sad and jealous of all of you who are going!

Anyway if you are going to a festival in England there is only ever one fashion accessory you need for a festival, yes the beloved Wellington boot! You've not bought yours yet, don't worry I am here to help while you could go for Hunters and fade into the crowd you could wear Aigle Wellingtons and stand out a bit more in their bright colours and interesting prints. Take a look for yourself at some of their great wellies. . .

I just love the vibrancy of these colours, can you imagine how good you would look in these! Like Hunter who I am sure you will know about Aigle has been around for a long time and make real wellies so these are a little bit pricey but investment buys and will last for countless festivals, unlike the wellies you will find in Topshop, Primark and other high street stores. If you love festivals I would really recommend buying a really good pair of Aigle wellies. I myself are looking to buy new wellies and after owning Hunter's previously I think Aigle is the new way to go for wellies, why not stand out from the crowd.
Now of course I am rather partial to the yellow pair above but I do rather love the darker pair that feature a wonderful colourful Liberty print. There of course are a lot more options to choose from and Aigle also have Miss Juliette, a lovely feminine Wellington boot collection that also features ankle boot wellies.

Why not dare to be different!

If you're going to a festival this summer enjoy!!

Look of the Day . . .

So had a little browse at the new in from New Look and there are some amazing pieces. I've made a great look out of my favourite pieces, have a look . . .

For Prices Click Here
I just love that these matching two pieces are back on trend and I that there is such a range of blue tones featured in this floral print. This look is of course for a summer evening or night out as it is a bit more glam then just a day to day look. I decided to pair it with a loose lace top that has been cut in a way which will complement perfectly the tailored cut of the skirt. Matched with some great platforms whose colour pops with the skirt and jacket. A simple over the shoulder bag in white and gold to hold all your essentials while you dance the night away finishes the look!

Also adore the gold jewellery in this look that just takes it from day to night. Of course wearing just one statement jewellery piece with flats or sandals would work perfectly during the day too. This is such a great set by New Look I know where I will be going when I get paid!

Do you love this look? How would you wear it?

Wednesday Want . . .

So this week I have this amazing piece of jewellery as my Wednesday Want, from the company Delilah Dust.
I found this wonderful brand on instagram and have to admit I am in love I am waiting for some money to come in and then some of this companies great pieces will be mine!!!

How amazing it this piece I love it so much! There are also more amazing crystal pieces on the website. I love the effect of the two crystals together, and also that they have been dipped in gold which really makes it into something special. A little bit of luxury, what more could you want!

This is one brand I am really looking forward to following.

Unfortunately I have just spotted that this weeks Want has gone out of stock but I'm hoping they might be making some more for us soon.

Bedazzled . . .

So have you seen some of the great bedazzled pieces of footwear around at the moment?
Now I'm not talking all over sparkle and detail I am just talking on the heel, have a look at the examples below . . .

For Prices Click Here
As you can see even the flats have had a bedazzling make over. I love the mix of styles available at the moment this is a great micro-trend if you want to add a little sparkle into your day to day life, this trend is also a great as you can take into evening wear. I really love the two pairs below best . . .

These one's from Zara really made me love this trend to start with. I just love the subtler details on this heel and the fact you could easily wear it in the day and straight to night without being too bold and over the top. Just right!

Finally these heels from Topshop, how fabulous are these! The detail is incredible and it is bound to cause a fuss among your friends, everybody will want these so get them before them sell out it is nearly summer party season you know!

Where will you be wearing your bedazzled shoes?

How to Style . . .

This Zara Coat!
Now when I was recently up in Sloane Square and the Kings Road I spotted a fleet of ladies in this coat, in both the yellow and the light blue. I just really love this piece particularly in the yellow which is very much on trend at the moment so pick one up while you can.

How would you style this coat? Now that's a question, I'll show you how I would style it . . .

For Prices Click Here
Now the statement piece of course in this look is this wonderful Zara coat, there are a few more Zara goodies hidden in this look, for example the stunning necklace and the fun yellow platforms. Now this look can be a day look or meeting up with friends as it is fun feminine and of course uber stylish!
Pairing this coat with a simple yet stunning white Topshop dress with a cut out back, to keep cool in the sun. I love pairing this look with a modern backpack from New Look, yes you may have seen it before but I just love the shape and design of it, its just so fresh and contemporary. I think this look is fun for the summer!

For Prices Click Here
Again another fun look, of course this jacket will look good over jeans and a t-shirt I just want to show you some more fun ways to wear this pastel coat. I decided to add another trend piece in this look, yes it is the fruity lemon print skort. Due to the bold print it is best to match with a white cami only in this look as you also would be wearing the yellow coat on top so it could be a little too in your face for some people.
I think this look is again fun and stylish.

How would you style this coat?

Sunday Splurge . . .

Sunday has come and is nearly at an end but there is still time to talk about this weeks Sunday Splurge, this week I have to admit I couldn't choose between two items so we have two pieces that have made it onto the list today.

Both of this weeks splurge pieces are by shoe designer Gianmarco Lorenzi, you may recognise the name as I have spoken about this great company before and have also been to one of their events in London.

So here we go . . .

For Price Click Here
The first splurge is this amazing pair of heels, I mean talk about incredible! Made in an outrageous mix of fluorescent pink, green and purple this shoe really is a show stopper and bound to get you attention. The structure is sure to make you and your shoes the talk of the evening, maybe even the town. If you need a bit more encouragement to buy this shoe as it is out of your price range, e.c.t maybe I should mention that it is also in the sale at the moment so grab it while you still can, or you will regret it!
You won't see another shoe like this for a long time.

Moving on to these beautiful platforms, what an incredible shape these have been designed in.
Crafted from blue suede, this statement heel is perfect for injecting a burst of colour into your outfits and looks. I really love the contemporary shape and look to these heels which is why I found it so hard to pick just one of these shoes to be this weeks Sunday Splurge.

What was your Sunday Splurge?

Chanel Pre Spring / Summer 2015

Oh Karl you have done it again!
Another wonderful collection has graced the Chanel Catwalk this season.
Have a look at my top six looks from this collection below.

Let me just start off by mentioning the amazing prints that were on show in this collection! I love the way the print was put on the more floaty pieces of the collection and just seems to flutter as the model walked down the runway almost making her appear to be an exotic creature.  I love the styling giving it a late 60's 70's feel, I can almost see some of the collection being worn in Studio 60. Next to this coat, how wonderful is this piece? I would really love this in my wardrobe, I love the detail and the obvious work that has gone into a piece like this, an elegant way to make a day to day statement. The detail and embellishment on this next piece is amazing, it just sparkles, I love that it is also paired with tight black trousers making sure that nothing detracts from the wonderful workmanship of the dress.

Now for some show stopping pieces. I love again how the first one floats down the runway! The print does remind me of something Alexander McQueen did while he was alive though which is a bit frustrating. The detail on the top though is just superb and I can imagine many a celeb floating about in this dress in events to come. Next we have an interesting piece, mainly because of the net like woven trousers that have been paired with this tunic dress. Again another great choice of fabrics from Karl, I love this tweed the colours are magnificent, nice change from the pinks and navy's. Finally, now this is a dress I can imagine Keira Knightley to be wearing at her next event, you can just see her in it can't you. I love the loose 1920's / 30's feel of it, the way it hangs. The longer underskirt is also a nice touch and adds to the vintage inspired theme.

All in all an amazing collection.
What were your favourite pieces?

Cannes 2014

It is that wonderful time of year when all of the most famous stars of film head to Cannes for the film festival.
There have been some great outfits so far, and I'm sure there is more to come.
Lets look at my top three so far . . .

Starting with Nicole Kidman, now I do love this actress but I'm sure we have all heard reports of her latest film about Grace Kelly, not good, any how back to this dress of hers. I think I love it because it reminds me of something she could have worn in Moulin Rouge, one of my favourite films. Her dress is by Armani Prive from their Spring / Summer 2014 collection, I love that she is also wearing jewellery by Harry Winston, only the finest for Cannes! Next we have the amazing Lupita Nyong'o who frankly can never do anything wrong wore a wonderful Calvin Klein dress. Is there anything this lady doesn't look amazing in??? I don't think so. Finally my favourite look so far was from Cate Blanchett who wore this stunning Valentino Pre-Autumn / Winter 2014 gown. She looks so elegant in this lace gown, almost seeming as if she belongs to a bygone era, she looks incredible!

So far a lot of Valentino has been seen in Cannes, I wonder what we will be seeing next?

The Little Posh Dress . . .

Last night I was treated with a glass of bubbly and a tasty mini cupcake by the welcoming ladies at Leggera Nell'Aria on the King's Road London, for their Keep it Fair in What you Wear Event. Showing a large array of eco-friendly designers and products, with two DJ's blasting out some amazing tunes it was a great night.

It was during this event that I met the lovely ladies from The Little Posh Dress Company. I just loved their dresses! Since 2012 this company have been making these stunning handmade dresses, see below, in wonderful patterns and fabrics. All dresses are designed in one style that you can see flatters all of our figures, regardless to size and shape, what could be better! In a style that can also be worn to any occasion from a day at the races, to a day at the office, these wonderful dresses will take you where you need to go. There is also only a limited number of each dress ever made so you can enjoy the exclusivity of your Little Posh Dress.

When speaking to the lovely owner, we joked that about how difficult it is for ladies with larger busts, like myself, to find the perfect dress to help contain, so to speak, our assets and these dresses really are incredible as you can adjust the tie at the front to allow for your bust and to make it a perfect fit for yourself! She also went on to say that for ladies with a smaller bust it helps accentuate your natural bust shape and leaves you with a stunning silhouette.

Another lovely bonus is that they are all made in Britain!  So go have a look at these great dresses, I would also like to point out that these dresses will look good on any lady regardless of age, shape or individual style there is something for everyone's tastes! My personal favourite is this red polka dot one below!

For the smarter occasions they also sell satin versions of their dress in a range of rich colours, I saw a young lady wearing the red satin last night she looked sensational! So make sure to look at those too!

I cannot wait to see what they come up with next!
To go and see their full range click here

Thanks for having me to the lovely people at Leggera Nell' Aria for being wonderful and welcoming hosts and to Calico Adventures for the invite!

What do you think of these dresses?

Mellow Yellow

This trend was made for me, yellow is in and in a big way too!
While shopping around with a friend in Zara I spotted some amazing yellow pieces for this summer. The designs were also in a great range of shades of yellow, which is great if your afraid of too bright a colour. Yellow can be tricky and I do understand that it does not suit everybody but there are some amazing pieces and accessories in Zara so go get some!

For Individual Prices Click Here
These are some of the great pieces and some of my favourites. The long coat in the centre is a particular favourite of mine, I love that the pockets have become a feature of the jacket and focal point as well as being a practical design feature. The shade is also less in your face but enough to stand out from the black jacket crowd. The shorter jacket is also a great find, perfect for throwing over a t-shirt and pair of jeans or black tailored trousers.

Will you be wearing this trend? If so how will you be wearing it?

Icon - Dita Von Teese

This week we have a an absolutely stunning woman as our Wednesday Icon. The exceptional Dita Von Teese, known for her burlesque performances as well as her extraordinary style. This lady was definitely born in the wrong decade, with style reminiscent of 1930s, 40s and occasionally 50s.

Her real name is Heather Renee Sweet, she created her stage name when she was younger and chose Dita in homage to the silent film actress Dita Parlo and Von Teese from a phone directory, although it was actually supposed to be Von Treese but a magazine spelt it wrong and since then it has remained Von Teese.
Known for her love of stockings, corsets and lingerie she loves to make the most of her stunning body in everything she wears.

Dita has walked the runway for some of the greats like Vivienne Westwood and Jean Paul Gaultier to name but a few. I can think of no time that I have ever not loved what she is wearing.

Stunning and a true style icon!

What do you think of Dita's style?

Wednesday Want . . .

So in the last week I have seen a number of this weeks Wednesday Want popping up on my instagram feed, and I have to say I was intrigued by this company, and after doing some more research I just fell in love with their pieces. Another bonus point is that you can have most of their pieces engraved for free!

Yes the company is the wonderful Monica Vinader! I especially like this one as I could have my initials engraved perfectly on the central disc. I also chose the gold version because I think it would compliment my yellow bag perfectly and add a little bit of glamour to my everyday style. This piece also does come in a variety of cord colours as well as sterling silver and rose gold. There is something for every girls taste. These Monica Vinader pieces would also look great worn with other bracelets. Click here to have a look at the other colours you could choose from.

Do you love this bracelet as much as me?

Dior Pre Spring / Summer 2015

So it has been a few days since the Christian Dior Pre Spring / Summer 15 show, apologies on the lateness of this write up but had a few things going on. Better late then never, here we go here are my top picks from the show.

So Raf Simons has done it again and given us one amazing Dior Show! The three above looks are my favourites, starting with the first image what an amazing jacket. By now you may know of my love of jackets and this jacket could fit quite happily in my wardrobe. I love the cut of the front of the jacket and the shape that the Raf Simons design has created. Flattering and interesting this piece is an amazing update to any tailored girls wardrobe! The textures achieved in the next piece are incredible too, the splash of cobalt blue also add impact to the net like fabric. Finally how can you go wrong with a velvet jacket, this one also seems unusual in the detail of subtle panels of velvet or possible fur. I think it is a really lovely piece to throw over a LBD like it is styled in the original look. All the designs are effortlessly stylish and modern, what a great pre collection, I cannot wait to see what is coming next.

Of course my favourite piece was this dress . . .

How well it will match my yellow bag! The fabric is just incredible and would look great in the summer sun.

What was your favourite piece from the Dior Pre Spring / Summer 2015?

How to Style . . .

So I recently bought this kimono from H&M to update my summer wardrobe and appropriate workwear.
I just love a kimono for the summer and I have been wearing them for years even before they became the 'it' thing for festivals and for the summer. The upside to them becoming more fashionable is that there is so much more variety! Anyway back to my kimono, I've done some styling to show you how I will be wearing this kimono and hopefully give you some more ideas of how to style your own summer kimono's.

Look 1

For Individual Prices Click Here
Just a day at the office. Pair with a simple dress and let the print do all the talking. I would pair it with these boots, as you know I love a boot. I also am a fan of a statement piece of jewellery as you may have noticed and this necklace is no exception its awesome.

Look 2

For Individual Prices Click Here
Day to Night. Now this is a bit more of a cheeky LBD, of course this is maybe not for a day at the office as the dress is a little bit more sexy but this is potentially great for cocktails with the girls.

Look 3

For Individual Prices Click Here
Drinks with the girls, with the possibility of a cheeky dance too. I love that cami's are coming back into fashion but they sometimes can be difficult if you have bigger boobs which result in thicker bra straps. So get your strapless bra ready girls and party the night away styling your kimono like this.

Look 4

For Individual Prices Click Here
Summer Day. Style with lace shorts to add a little something different than just denim for the summer. A breezy loose shirt to keep cool in the sun, practical fringe bag perfect for a festival and some wonderful blue sandals to bring out the blue from the kimono.

How would you wear your kimono?

I first saw them at the Carnaby Street Shopping Party Event and those of you who check out my instagram will have seen them before. Feeling Fruity . . .

So it's time to really find those summer must have pieces for your wardrobe, and while looking around for pieces to update mine with I have noticed a lot of fruit references, have you noticed it too?

I have to say I kind of feel like I want to go fruit crazy!

Here are some of the great tropical fruit print items I've found.

For Individual Prices Click Here
I personally love the pineapple print items and may have fallen in love with the sweatshirt, yes it is for a guy but that doesn't matter! The fashion world has gone citrus crazy with the variety of lemon prints around as well at the moment.

This trend seems to also be branching out into the accessories too have a look at these goodies . . .

For Individual Prices Click Here
The funky earrings are pretty awesome and an easy way to add a little bit of fruity fashion into your outfits. I have a soft spot for the banana bag from H&M too I may need to purchase this as my summer yellow bag. The sunglasses are also cool they are made by a girl on Etsy check them out by clicking here.

Are you feeling fruity?

Met Ball 2014

Ok yes I know I am a little late with this post but I have been away. My family and I went to Drayton Manor and I had to play my role as the cool cousin and look after two little ones so apologies for not posting over the last week.

Anyway on to the main story the Met Ball 2014, this night was to celebrate the opening of is exhibition dedicated to the couturier Charles James so of course there were some stunning gowns in sight! I couldn't even pick just three!!!  So without further ado here are all my favourite looks of the night . . .

Starting with the pink ladies! I absolutely loved Reese Witherspoon's dress by Stella McCartney a very elegant, glamorous and sexy look. The wonderful Elle Woods from the beloved film legally blonde has grown up! Next we have the wonderful Claire Danes in a dress straight off Oscar de la Renta runway. I love the look of the velvet bodice against the voluminous plush skirt. Finally the lovely Emma Stone in a custom made Thakoon skirt and top. She looked fresh, elegant and very glamorous.

Next on to the darker crew and starting with Zooey Deschanel in a bespoke Tommy Hilfiger gown. This quirky indie queen was transformed into a princess for the night, she looked absolutely incredible I'm thinking she even looks Disney princess good, Disney its about time for another brunette princess I think! Next onto Georgia May Jagger who just oozed sex appeal, she looked sensational in this dress by David Koma, showing a little skin but not as much as some others she looked amazing. Next onto the feminine and flirty Dior dress that Marion Cotillard wore, I love the colour and tone of this midnight blue dress. The length is also perfect for this design as any longer would have ruined it. I love the pattern and texture with makes this dress appear almost scale like, she definitely is a creature to behold.

Now this lady has made it onto some worst dressed lists but I love Chloe Sevigny in this Kenzo dress. The colour complements her skin tone and hair and the black elements of this dress really makes the pattern pop out at you. She looks awesome and I think she rocks this dress! Now to the wonderful Dita Von Teese in this sophisticated Zac Posen gown, this dress just looks like it was made for her body, it seems to fit her like  glove. The incredible design of this gown and colour is the reason that it is my favourite of the evening. Finally onto Blake Lively in this Gucci gown, now this lady is on every bodies best dressed list it seems and I think you can see why. Again another incredible dress and look, helped that on her arm was her husband Ryan Reynolds too.

An incredible evening of fashion, of course there are some other amazing outfits and gowns from that night but these were my top picks I hope you liked them as much as me.

What was your favourite outfit of the night?

Wedding Edit

So what do you wear to your boyfriends ex's wedding?? Now dressing for this could be awkward, definitely don't arrive wearing a white or cream dress, not cool! So this is a problem I have this weekend, and of course I forgot about it and have left it to last minute to figure out what to wear.

So what do you wear?? Now that's a question . . .
Here are a few looks I've come up with.

For Prices Click Here
So there of course are a lot of great dresses for weddings around at the moment but these are my four favourites. Starting with this pink number from Miss Selfridge, now I'm not a pink girl but this dress is certainly something special! Designed in a colour block style with only a black detail at the centre to tone down the overall pink look. Moving onto this more casual dress from Warehouse is lovely too. Made from stretch jersey this dress will cling to your curves in all the right places and with extra definition given from the tucks at the waist. The print is also classy and not too in your face for an all over print. Next we have another from Warehouse, I really love this multi tribal zip zag dress. Made from cotton this lightweight dress is perfect for a summer wedding so you can stay cool and calm throughout the day. Lastly we have this lace dress from Next, I just love the interesting way they have mixed the different lace fabrics and have created an edgy and modern LBD. Striking, elegant and classy this dress is perfect for a wedding.

I think I will go for a red lace dress, and pair it with black tights and a velvet jacket if its cool or nude tights and a thin cardigan if its a lovely day. I will instagram the outfit I actually wear so you can tell me if I chose right.

What would you wear to your partners ex's wedding?

Thursday Thing . . .

Ok, so my Wednesday Want wouldn't load so I'm renaming it as my Thursday Thing, for this week only I promise. So this weeks Thursday Thing is something I saw at Fabric Pr's Press Day and have now seen online and am dying to have! What is it I hear you say, well . . .

How beautiful is this bracelet! I fell in love with the gold version at the Fabric PR Press Day and am even more in love this the silver, no I love them equally. Next pay day these lovelies will be mine, perfect for the summer. The bracelets are 22 caret gold or silver plated depending which bracelet you choose, and feature these wonderful honeybees. I even love the name, Kissing Bees Bangle. Below are my pictures from the Fabric Pr Press Day showing the lovely gold version of this bangle, check it out!

Look out for a blog post just devoted to this brand coming soon as I just love them!
Hope you love this piece as much as me!
