Faux Fur Friends . . .

So this season it has all been about the Faux Fur Coat, you can't deny you haven't though about curling up in one, having one to keep you warm and cosy on those cold windy nights!
Dare I say that I have given in! I have added this wonderful green Samsoe & Samsoe number to my life this Christmas and it was so worth it!

Samsoe & Samsoe
Now Samsoe & Samsoe are a Danish brand based in Copenhagen, they are starting to make a big name for themselves over here with their classic, and elegant scandanavian designs. I have to admit I also bought a beautful coat from them in a sample sale resently and I have to say it was the best coat I have bought in a long time, anyway I will save that story for another blog post!

Getting back to my point (sorry for the tangent) it is the perfect time to invest in a faux fur piece for your wardrobe! Especially as I have seen a number of fabulous pieces in the winter sales. I have put my top 10 pics together for you below, hope you like them as much as I do . . .

Number 1 -  Dorothy Perkins
Number 2 - Biba (House of Fraser)
Number 3 - Nobodys Child
Number 4 - Shrimps
Number 5 - Maison Scotch
Number 6 - Mango
Number 7 - Samsoe & Samsoe
Number 8 - Topshop
Number 9 - NYDJ
Number 10 - Unreal Fur (Topshop)
Ironically this image was also saved on my computer as 101 (don't tell Cruella Deville)
All of these fabulous jackets are currently on sale so if you see something you like make sure you get it before it's too late!

Please follow the links above to see the sale prices and product information. It's so hard to choose my favourite, though I'm sure my bank balance might direct me to the cheeper options. Number 3 is from a new brand I have found called Nobodys Child take a look at their site they have some great pieces and at very good prices you will be amazed, defineity worth a lunch time browse.

The Unreal Fur from Topshop monochrome jacket is also a good find. There are lots of monochrome style faux fur jackets available at the moment but I haven't seen one like this before. I like the flattering black panels on the sides this is a good piece to invest in.

Of course there is a Shrimps coat featured because it wouldn't be right not to include it and this jacket is in the sale so if you have been dreaming of one have a look at their website there are some good discounts available.

Maison Scotch contrast coat is also very popular too, this coat has featured in many magazine and even on the likes of Elle Online! So snap it up before it's too late, I certainly will.

Anyway I hope I have inspired some of you to find some great bargains that are available at the moment. Which is your favourite?

Look of the Day . . .

So had a little browse at the new in from New Look and there are some amazing pieces. I've made a great look out of my favourite pieces, have a look . . .

I just love that these matching two pieces are back on trend and I that there is such a range of blue tones featured in this floral print. This look is of course for a summer evening or night out as it is a bit more glam then just a day to day look. I decided to pair it with a loose lace top that has been cut in a way which will complement perfectly the tailored cut of the skirt. Matched with some great platforms whose colour pops with the skirt and jacket. A simple over the shoulder bag in white and gold to hold all your essentials while you dance the night away finishes the look!

Also adore the gold jewellery in this look that just takes it from day to night. Of course wearing just one statement jewellery piece with flats or sandals would work perfectly during the day too. This is such a great set by New Look I know where I will be going when I get paid!

Do you love this look? How would you wear it?

New Buys . . .

So went to pick up one of my new buys today from New Look. I found this dress in their online sale and instantly fell in love with it. It's simple, classic and stylish. A piece that can simply be thrown on in the morning but appears as if I've made a real effort, which is always good when you're in a rush.

This dress is so comfy, it is perfect for work and for play! Wear with tights or bare legs, when it gets hotter of course. Here are a few looks I will be pairing with this dress.

Look one is a daytime look, with the dress as a base I have paired it with a lovely lace parka jacket from Warehouse. Living in England we never know what the weather is going to be like so this lace pac a mac is brilliant, a stylish solution to keeping dry in the rain. These sandals are very glamorous and perfect for taking a summer outfit from day to night. Taking inspiration from the gold in the sandals it's only fitting to keep the jewellery the same colour, I love these stacking rings and bangles simple and elegant. Adding some colour through my nail varnish, how great is this colour from Barry M! Finishing this look off with a white quilted backpack from River Island, practical for a day out in the sun.

Look two . . .

For Stocklists Click Here
This is the most casual look out of the three with this denim waterfall jacket and awesome denim keds, matching the blue from the dress. This time adding a statement necklace to draw some attention back onto the dress. Adding a burst of purple through the choice of nail polish and fringed bag. The fringed bag is perfect for the festival season, I'm always carrying a fringed bag at festivals, fun and practical. This is a more slouchy look, made for chilling in the park in the summer sunshine with your friends.

Finally Look three . . .
A look for the evening. Using the white from the dress as a base and adding statement but complimentary pieces such as the white structured jacket, a white handbag for those party essentials. Add some silver jewellery to add a little point of interest on your fingers and ears. I love these brogues and they work with this look so well, don't you think? Nail polish, a nice metallic blue to shimmer at the bar. Classy, elegant but an overall edgy look.

How would you wear this dress?

Working Wardrobe

So its Monday again and we are all faced with the question 'What will we be wearing this week?' I've come up with a look for each day, of course most days we won't know what to expect from a day at the studio so always dress to impress, you never know who you might meet.

Monday's look. . .

For Stocklists Click Here
For look one I'm going for an edgy dress from H&M I love the simplicity of this dress, made to look like a two piece this is the perfect dress for the Monday morning dash. Kick on a pair of Victorian inspired boots with a little heel, shoes like these are great for interning as you can run around town on errands and still feel your feet at the end of the day. Throw on this figure hugging jacket to pull the look together, also with tassel detail it will get you attention running around London and also it will be a conversation starter. Accessorize with a silver ring and a statement necklace, the scissor piece is awesome and perfect for any fashionista. Nails matching my prized Cambridge satchel company satchel, and yes maybe my phone matches it too.

Tuesday's look . . .

Look two consists of jacquard skinny trousers, in a flame red print paired with a simple black cami top. Styled with red, gold and black accessories, to add some more wow. Starting from ears down, I would wear these stud earrings as if you wear your hair down as you move the red gems will just glint in the sun. Next the necklace, a piece suitable for the global trend this Spring / Summer 14, inspired by the orient this tassel piece is stunning and a wonderful addition to any outfit. The bracelet matching the earrings with a sparkling red gem again is a simple addition that packs a punch, it was a Wednesday want remember. My bag choice for this look is the amazing backpack from the Cambridge Satchel Company, this is my next buy when I get my a paying position. Finished off with these fringed sandals from H&M ok these shoes will not work for running around on errands but are the perfect shoes for a day in the studio, and for taking this outfit to a cocktail bar after work.

Wednesday's look . . .

Another day another sharply tailored jacket, thrown over a 60's inspired dress in a floral black and white print. This look is easy for any morning dash but looks incredible on and is smart enough for the studio. Heeled boots to give you a bit of height if your a little on the short size like me. My trusty satchel, with nails and phone to match adding a splurge of colour to this otherwise monochrome look. Don't get me wrong I love the black and white combo but I also love to insert a bit of colour even if it's just through my nail polish or accessories. This look is completed with this wonderful floppy hat, maybe not if its windy though. You are sure to be snapped by a street style photographer in this look.

Thursday's look . . .

See I can do black and white, I love these geometric print trousers from H&M they are on my list for my next H&M visit. Put with a simple white top in an interesting cut and shape adding a little bit more interest than just a plain cami. This wonderful jacket will be the talk of the town, with folk inspired embroidery, and fringing, yes ok there is a hefty price tag on it but if your working it is something worth saving for. Wear with silver accessories and a black and white satchel. Add colour with a dash or red lipstick and red nails to really accentuate the colours and print.

Friday's look . . .
For Stocklists Click Here
A bold print to finish off the week, well that's how I roll. This dress is perfect as with all the colours in the print you have hundreds of possibilities for matching or clashing with the rest of the look. A wonderful waterfall black jacket with zip details adding interest but not detracting from the dress. Gold accessories next, simple gold bangles with tiny cut out patterns have enough detail to be a talking point but don't talk too loudly against the dress. The statement jewellery piece is the ring I just love this metallic and gold piece adding interest even if you had nude nails, but it's me so it's all about blue nails that are colour matched from the dress, it just boosts the blue in the dress. Velvet boots I just love them, again they match one of the magenta tones shown in the print of the dress showing that they are working together not clashing or detracting attention away from the print. That trusted backpack has made an appearance on the last day, they just are the best bag for the working girl if you like the modernized satchel.

Do you like my looks? What are your weekday looks?

It's difficult to choose a favourite from such a great variety or colours and styles.
If I had to choose mine from the top set it would be, well it's a tie between the dress on the right and the gold ring with the blue gem. The dress is in a style that suits me, I find its practical for day to day errand running that comes daily with internships. I love the pattern with its subtlety and elegance. It can also be styled up or down perfect! The ring is just gorgeous, the colours and the layout make it stand out, the perfect day to night accessory.
Favourite from the bottom set . . . it would have to be the shift dress with the interesting orchid print. The colour choices are bright and summery but the black at the bottom makes it more edgy and unusual. My kind of dress!
What's your favourite piece?

Fondant Fancies

Last years pastel trend is still going strong, with shades such as peach, spearmint, lilac, lavender and baby blue, to name but a few being available in all shapes and styles. This trend does remind me of Mr Kipling's French fancies, a personal favourite of mine :S

Next stop to the shops! River Island had the best range of pastels for me so I shall be heading there later in the week to shop till I drop, or till my bank account lets out a shriek. What's your favourite pastel shade?

Friday Favourites - Purple Haze

For my first proper entry, I felt that it was a good time to start to show you glimpses of my style and tastes. Where better to start then with some Friday Favourites, I love this look - Purple Haze. I am a girl who loves a good jacket, I can't help it, there is something about them whether it be the print, shape, cut or tailoring I just can't get enough of them! I love this one from River Island and in the sale, I know where I will be looking this weekend. The Tunic dress is a wardrobe staple, whether you like a more plain tunic to style up or like me you love a brilliant print you can never have too many of them and this gorgeous one available through ASOS is perfect for standing out in the crowd this Spring / Summer.

Black Foulard Print Blazer (RiverIsland) -  £15.00
Aztec Print Tunic Dress (Vero Moda ASOS) - £25.00
Ring (Suntekstore) - £3.04
Boots (NewLook) - £12.00
Nail Polish (Sephora) - £13.28
Shoes, now what girl doesn't like shoes?? I am very partial to a boot, in any style or colour. These ones from the New Look sale are brilliant for the start of the spring when it's still cold enough to wear a covered heel for both day and night. Rings, what can I say but I'm a ring-o-holic, if there is such a thing, they are my favourite piece of jewellery and can be worn with anything, whether it be a simple band or a huge statement ring it's the perfect accessory. I was instantly drawn to this full finger ring due to its understated edgy glamour, a simple addition to tie the whole outfit together. Nail polish, now I can't say I'm the kind of girl who matches her nail polish to her outfits but I always have my nails painted. The more unusual the colour the more I like it and I really like this Pantone range by Sephora especially the one on the far left the metallic shine is amazing. Hope you like my first Friday look, Purple Haze!
