Bestival Fever . . .

Hello Everyone long time no speak, sorry I've been away for a little while don't worry I haven't forgotten about my little blog.

So today is the last day of Bestival in the Isle of White, so to mark the end to the festival season in the UK I am going out with a festival bang!

Now this below look incorporates everything which I hold dear to festivals, glitter, sequins, fringing and metallics! I'm sure like most festivals goers we all know that a festival is the one place apart from an 80s themed night that is acceptable to go all out sequin style. So hopefully this crazy look will please you as much as it does me.

Now you all know I am a sucker for H&M and I am in love with this kooky sequin two piece. I like the look of the two pieces together perfect for festivals, or as separates for nights out or even just wear the top to update your work wardrobe.

Next match this tropical two piece with an across the body bag, this one from ASOS is perfect. A good size for all your festival essentials with the added bonus of being covered in sequins and even a cheeky bit of fringing.

Now usually I would pair any festival look with a trusty pair of wellingtons but this weekend has been quite hot so this time I have paired my festival look with a cool metallic pair of converses. This pair I am currently coveting for myself. I like that they change colour depending where you look at them. This pair will serve you well if you like adding a bit of colour to your wardrobe, imagine pairing these with a black pair of jeans, instant cool!

Next onto the make up, let's face it festivals are the one time you can go absolutely crazy, the more glitter the better. Think about accentuating the eyes with metallic eye shadows and glitter eyeliners and for the more daring glitter on your cheek bones makes a good impact too.

Remember there is also always a place for UV paint too!

Finally the jewellery, my go to is usually a good interesting pair of earrings (I'd normally choose quirky studs), stacking rings and several bracelets, the more the better.

Get Coachella Ready . . .

Hello again everyone, I know it has been a long time since I last wrote anything, for which I am very sorry that I have let time slip away, Anyway what better reason to start writing again than festival season!

Yes we all know it is Coachella time again, and what better way to get into the festival spirit then to show three festival looks fit for Coachella. Of course the first is a look by H&M, and specifically their Coachella collection.

As you can see the designers at H&M have carefully though about our festival statement pieces, for example the fringed cross body bag. Now when I go to festivals I have to admit this for me is a key piece! Moving onto the overall outfit, the boho printed top is my favourite piece from the entire collection, I think the choice of print was genius, think how good this will look in the Californian sun. I have paired the top here with just a simple black denim pair of shorts. Now how to accessorize, of course with colourful stackable bracelets are a must have at festivals, as well as your trusty festival wristband we like to over accessorize our wrists and why not!! Now sunglasses, we all know this is a festival staple whatever the weather, I wore mine in Glastonbury in the sun and in the rain, morning and even night, though it was a lot harder to see the mud with. Luckily for festival goers at Coachella it is going to be hot so you can get away with wearing heeled lace up sandals. Finally a trusty felt hat to finish off the overall boho chic look and to protect you from the sun.

What is a festival in the Californian sun if not a chance to wear some stylish pieces, with no chance of mud at this festival the shoe options are endless. Again I have to admit this two piece is from H&M but how fabulous is it! I love the metallic pattern of the fabric and the hint of pale blue in the print. This time I've chosen this cami top to go underneath this statement jacket, this fringed edged lace number is perfect for dancing about in. This outfit would look good accessorized with either gold or silver pieces but for my look I have chosen to go with statement silver pieces. Again another version of the over the shoulder fringed bag this time in white, paired with these flatform white sandals.

Finally look three. Lets start with this denim parka, now yes it will be hot but we have to think practically, if it goes turn a little bit chilly this will keep you warm. I think a parka style jacket or coat is always a great buy if you are going to a festival as it is normally light weight, will keep you warm and is very flattering! Next we have another off the shoulder top this time in a blue and green floral print, personally I love this top I think it is so pretty. Throw this top on over a pair of white fringed edge denim shorts and that's your outfit sorted. Now to the finishing touches, first the gold gladiator sandals, now we all know these are very much back on trend at the moment so this is a summer wardrobe essential piece, this Topshop pair I predict will sell out fast so get them before they are gone. Next to a statement necklace and matching earrings again this is a bit flashy for an English festival but in the Californian sun this will really sparkle! Now to the final piece this amazing blue suede fringed backpack from Accessories.

Trend My Way . . .

So I thought it was time for a trend piece, I have chosen the rather feisty leopard print trend for this post.

As I'm sure you will have noticed recently you really cannot go anywhere without seeing that leopard print is going to be big this season. 

Here I have pulled a look together of how I would style this look, dare I say I would even sport it to London Fashion Week which kicks off at the end of this week and weekend.

So to start as the base of this look I have chosen this rather expensive designer faux fur coat, of course there are great options for our price range available on the high street. With this coat as the main feature I would put it with a simple LBD as lets face it most of the time you would want to be wrapped up in it not have it open and you exposed to the elements, yes I know its not winter yet. Next I would pair it with a simple elegant leather clutch bag, as this is a glamorous / relaxed look I think a big bag would be too much. Moving onto the footwear, I think these leopard print Palladium Boots are just perfect for this look, they give enough impact to stand out when you take off the coat, but while you are wearing it it very much compliments the overall look perfectly. Next to accessories, this look gets a bit of sparkle with this Orelia ring, which you may recognise as one of this weeks Wednesday Want, I think its elegance works really well with this look. The hat, you have to admit it does add to the look having it there, I love a good hat unfortunately I seem to be someone that can only pull off a few styles of hat, luckily though this is one of them! I really love the shape of this black hat, pay day purchase, I think so!

Next to add a bit of colour, no I am not referring to the black nail varnish but of course the dash of red from the Rimmel lipstick. Lipstick is just such a great way to get an instant splash of colour or to add some drama to your look, and of course to sport leopard print you have to be a rather sexy and feisty kind of women, so red is just a brilliant colour to go for.

Iridescent Fashion

Has anyone else noticed that this Summer trends seem to have something iridescent about them? 

Now this iridescent trend is a nice mix of metallics, sheer, and white pieces, layered in interesting ways to give almost a ethereal futuristic feel.

There are some great pieces around online and in stores at the moment so this time I'll leave you to search yourself and show you instead a girly chic way to wear this hot summer trend. . .

Now this look is made up of an interesting white dress with a fishnet hem, a statement oversized silver coat, clutch, shimmering platforms and some jewels to finish of this look. Well the best way to shine is with diamonds! Of course this look is not suitable for work, it is more appropriate for a date night or evening out with the girls or your partner. I would wear this for evening drinks, I don't think I would trust myself with a white dress and dinner, accident waiting to happen. How will you be wearing this trend?

How to Style . . .

So I recently bought this kimono from H&M to update my summer wardrobe and appropriate workwear.

I just love a kimono for the summer and I have been wearing them for years even before they became the 'it' thing for festivals and for the summer. The upside to them becoming more fashionable is that there is so much more variety! Anyway back to my kimono, I've done some styling to show you how I will be wearing this kimono and hopefully give you some more ideas of how to style your own summer kimono's.

Just a day at the office. Pair with a simple dress and let the print do all the talking. I would pair it with these boots, as you know I love a boot. I also am a fan of a statement piece of jewellery as you may have noticed and this necklace is no exception its awesome.

Day to Night. Now this is a bit more of a cheeky LBD, of course this is maybe not for a day at the office as the dress is a little bit more sexy but this is potentially great for cocktails with the girls.

I love that cami's are coming back into fashion but they sometimes can be difficult if you have bigger boobs which result in thicker bra straps. Wedding Edit

So what do you wear to your boyfriends ex's wedding?? Now dressing for this could be awkward, definitely don't arrive wearing a white or cream dress, not cool! So this is a problem I have this weekend, and of course I forgot about it and have left it to last minute to figure out what to wear.

So there of course are a lot of great dresses for weddings around at the moment but these are my four favourites. Starting with this pink number from Miss Selfridge, now I'm not a pink girl but this dress is certainly something special! Designed in a colour block style with only a black detail at the centre to tone down the overall pink look. Moving onto this more casual dress from Warehouse is lovely too. Made from stretch jersey this dress will cling to your curves in all the right places and with extra definition given from the tucks at the waist. The print is also classy and not too in your face for an all over print. Next we have another from Warehouse, I really love this multi tribal zip zag dress. Made from cotton this lightweight dress is perfect for a summer wedding so you can stay cool and calm throughout the day. Lastly we have this lace dress from Next, I just love the interesting way they have mixed the different lace fabrics and have created an edgy and modern LBD. Striking, elegant and classy this dress is perfect for a wedding.

I think I will go for a red lace dress, and pair it with black tights and a velvet jacket if its cool or nude tights and a thin cardigan if its a lovely day. I will instagram the outfit I actually wear so you can tell me if I chose right.

Look three, loving this look if a dare say so myself. Again this look was put together with the bow tie and pocket square in mind. I just love this print this time inspired by the sea birds from Darwin's journey, the way the birds seem to meet together in this print is just mesmerizing, these pieces are really just portable art works. This look pulls colours from the print and mixes them up, by pairing them with this emerald green suit you can see that it actually boosts the blues and other tones in the pieces, really helping to set them off.

Finally look four, make an entrance in this bright flurry of colour. This time I have paired the SARTOR RESARTUS pieces with a raspberry coloured suit. This bow tie and pocket square have a more nautical inspired print design, a three dimensional rope print to be exact, you can see the intricate knot details as well which I really like and it's almost a unique take on a geometric print. This look is the perfect example of colour clashing for menswear, but they really work together to tone each other down when worn as a whole outfit.

I am aware that I have gone for bold looks to match these bold designs but I think you boys sometimes forget that there are other options for tailored suits not just plain black or grey. These pieces will look just as amazing on more muted looks and will still have the desired effect when you wear them, but dare to be more adventurous with your fashion. I think there is such a pool of talent designing for menswear at the moment who are desperately trying to get you to be more creative and unique in the way you dress, why not embrace it, or care more about your appearance.

Fashion Week Style . . .

My dream outfits for a day at each Fashion Week location.

For New York, I would go for something classy and elegant, I'm not a neutral colour kind of girl I can openly say I do not own any beige or brown items they just do not suit me, so my neutral go to colours are black and white. Ok I'll admit this does look rather Parisian in style but I think in the Front Rows of NYFW shows it would be rather refreshing. A classical, elegant and modern take on a striped dress, I love the cut of the dress and that I've paired it with the brogues! They will be on my wishlist.

For London a more fun look, let my quirky side come out. I love the 60's inspired dress, and the mix of coloured accessories. Adding point of interest with the necklace breaking up the print a little bit, adding an ear cuff to one ear and wearing my hair on one side to show off the earring to its best and just putting a small stud in the covered one. Shoes here is hoping it would be sunny, it was a few days of London Fashion Week remember! Nail varnish on this occasion matching but love the slight metallic twist on this one from H&M. Finished off with my trusted satchel but in a complementary colour, my yellow one would be a little too in your face for this occasion.

Milan, heat, Mediterranean the perfect time to release the colour and match the weather. Swing dress matched with edgy gold jewellery, paler coat to compliment the look, statement print shoes to add a little something, something to the outfit a perfect look to get you noticed. Yes my trusted Yellow Satchel too. This is a bright look and might scare some but I think as long as you have the confidence to wear something go for it, don't let a burst of colour scare you.

Love the simplicity of this look, I don't normally go for white pieces but I think these pieces are wonderful. Paired with stappy heels, in a perfect world it of course would be sunny. Statement necklace and stacking rings pull the outfit together. Also keeping in monochrome theme with the black and white nail varnish, now I would probably have some fun with it and make some interesting designs to add a little bit of detail but you could of course keep it completely in a minimalist style. I think this would be my Paris Look.

Wednesday Want - New Buy

So went out and bought my Wednesday want, a black sheer kimono from H&M I've wanted one for a really long time but just haven't got round to buying one yet. Not that the weather is particularly perfect at the moment to be able to wear it but I just had to have it! I've styled it how I will be wearing it when it gets a bit warmer.

The black sheer Kimono a new wardrobe staple, suitable for both day and night. I've paired it here with a simple black top and amazing print trousers. Still searching for an amazing pair in my kinda of price range. Styled with some statement and chunky jewellery it is the perfect day to night outfit. Now I've got this great Kimono I will be on the look out for a shorter one for more casual occasions or for over shorts in the summer. Know any good places to buy Kimonos?

Wednesday Want

Love a bit of Vintage shopping, generally I love to trawl through shops in Brighton, Brick Lane, Portobello Road or Spitalfields Markets, e.c.t but unusually for me I looked at good old Beyond Retro's online store and spotted this amazing burgundy velvet dress, which also features a lace trim around the collar and the cuffs. Now I should probably mention that I have a weakness for 1) Velvet and 2) Lace so this dress match made in heaven, why wouldn't I like it!

I styled this dress as I would wear it, I'm sure the look wont be to everyone's tastes. As I've mentioned before I love a boot and I adore these Steve Madden ones, I like the gold buckle details they definitely add to the overall look and style of the boot. The Backpack, ok I know its from the men's section of the Cambridge Satchel Companies website but I love it. When I got my lovely Yellow Satchel I spotted the backpacks and thought that's going to be my next buy, when I've done something to deserve it. The rings, stunning shapes, subtle but they make an impact. Ok the ridiculously expensive one I could not afford for a long time but of course there are a lot of cheaper ones available, I have one in silver that I wear all the time, I have another with green stones at the end of each leaf too, lets just say I love the style! The whole finger ring is awesome too I find its a great way to add impact to an outfit, as you use your hands to do most things in your day accessorize them to make an impact or give someone a reason to notice you. The ear cuff, new favourite accessory of mine especially in the summer when you are more likely to have your hair up, I normally wear my hair to the side so I can show off my cuff to its best. Love the interesting crystal detail on this one very glam. Nail polish . . . I think you know my feelings on it by now, love the shade!

The perfect Sunday, researching and finding new designers and illustrators to inspire new collections. I love this scarf design called forget me not, its a beautiful design in wonderful shades and tones, it just grabs my attention. A simple statement striped t-shirt and leggings a Sunday staple in my wardrobe, along with leggings its nice to be comfortable when catching up on bits and bobs from the week. Nail polish, it's the one day a week that I can have some me time, changing my nail polish, know its something simple but it's nice to have time to do something even little for yourself. The pillow, time to relax and get ready for the week ahead! How amazing is this pillow though, I love the messy mascara eyes, almost a nice way to remember to take off your makeup each night, though of course I'm sure we can all say we have woken up with Panda eyes at least once. Curling up in the warm, with a classic movie, and a treat like these hot chocolates, wow a very lucky girl, might have to go and make myself one now. I hope you all have a lovely relaxing Sunday!

As the girl with the yellow bag of course my number one had to be yellow, but I love the embossed detail on the front, it really makes an impact and is perfect paired with a simple LBD, it does all the talking! Number 2 the Tory Burch Clutch is very glam, almost Great Gatsby inspired, I really love the gold work on it with the flash of blue underneath, this is an elegant choice for an evening out of a fancy event. Oh number three, it's just so fun, what's not to like. I know I mentioned the other day that I thought Paula Patton looked awful in the zebra print dress at the Grammy's and I stand by that comment but I don't hate zebra print. The embellishment fringe is fun and colourful great for a party! Number 4 is by one of my favourite clutch designers Edie Parker I love her perspex clutches, especially this retro inspired one in the style of a cassette. Its fun, fabulous and instantly updates your outfit. Number 5, what can I say about the perspex Chanel number 5 bottle one of last years must haves, I still love it!!!

Just a normal day . . .

I'm the kind of girl who lives in leggings, I of course own jeans but I just love a pair of leggings.

Print leggings are one of my most favourite items of clothing, I love these ones from H&M. I have some similar but need to buy new ones mine are seriously old now. You may notice I love H&M, I can assure you I do shop in other places.

An everyday outfit for me is much like the above, leggings paired with a jumper or a shirt. Accessorized with a big ring and a statement necklace. Nails always painted in strange tones and colours, I love finding one off's in markets on holiday, you can find the most amazing colours! I spend my days running around doing errands in and out of the studio so I think it is useful to be comfortable, you don't have to wear high heels to be fashionable, just wear what you like but wear with confidence!

Shift Day

Shift Dresses what can I say apart from I love them, they are the best solution to the early morning dash. You can simply just throw them on and instantly look good. I particularly am drawn to shifts with a bold or colourful print as I'm sure you will start to notice. This shift from Warehouse is lovely and a perfect match for my satchel. The paint like effect of the print creates a wonderful texture, I also like the exposed back zip detail, some people I know aren't convinced by exposed zips but I think they instantly update things and add a slightly more modern twist on things.

Like I've mentioned previously boots are one of my favourite things, if I could wear them all year round I would! I especially am drawn to these ones from Topshop, the buckle and strap details draw your eye in and the flash of gold on the bottom of the heel just finishes off the look to the T. They are very much on my wishlist! Stacking rings, well they've been on trend for a while now and don't seem to be shifting, normally I personally stack my own assorted rings, but I do like this set of stacking rings, especially the interesting designs on the bands. Mind you I'm a sucker for an interesting ring, I especially love antique rings and searching through vintage jewellery shops, its nice to have something that not everyone has, but maybe that's just me.
