Sunday Splurge . . .

Hands up who watched Netflix's Next in Fashion series? 🙋

Now I can't say the presenting was much good personally, loved Tan (you really feel he cared about everyone in the competition) but Alexa was a bit boring I know people are obsessed with her but would have been interesting to see a slightly more unusual fashion character involved. I'm sure some of you will agree and some will disagree but what they did have were some really fantastic designers on the show. If you are still watching don't read anymore of this because I am going to talk about the winner's collection which has just popped up on Net-A-Porter's site.

Another part of the show I liked was in regards to the selection of the contestants who were picked to compete. Aside from their individual clear talents it was the friendships they made while working as teams that I enjoyed watching and their unique collaborations.

Now I know a couple of the contestants were already friends before entering the competition like Minju and Angel but it was still really lovely to see all their friendships develop as the series went on too. Dragon Princess forever!

Hopefully no spoilers if you have stayed with me!

Of course its Minju Kim that I am talking about, I want to be her friend so badly. Minju was so lovely, kind and humble throughout the show you could not help but get behind her as she went through the competition and I hope her sister has got off her back a bit now! Her design progression throughout the show was a joy to watch and you could really see her growing in confidence as the competition hotted up, although bless her she was still second guessing herself right to the end.

So for this week's Sunday Splurge I wanted to feature a couple of her striking pieces from her Frida Kahlo inspired collection. I was blown away with her collection when it took to the runway, not in the sense that I didn't expect a high quality design to come from her but in the sense I was so proud that she stuck to her gut and produced something that really showed who she was, with no holding back.

It was breathtaking; the styling, the attention to detail, the wonderful fabric choices I thought it was really incredible and I think she deserved to win. I spotted after what looked like a fun launch party on social media that some of her designs had appeared on the Net-A-Porter site so took a little look and here are a few of my favourite pieces. If someone just wants to buy me the full collection, I would be totally happy with that too!

What do you make of her collection? If you watched the show, who was your favourite designer?
