What delights were presented to us on Day 7 of Paris Fashion Week?
Staring us off we have Giambattista Valli.
Now this is a designer who had a romantic take on the floral trend. Rose-strewn dresses, pink and red palette, soft designs to match the soft shades, full lace and lace overlays, botanical floral prints, plunging neck lines, my beloved capes. A really lovely and feminine collection. I really love the addition of the black and white prints, especially for the coats, because of the design of the print it feels like is adds more movement to the curled cut of the coat.
What to say about the next designer? A genius, every women's best friend, visionary?
Yes it is the wonderful designer and genius Elie Saab!
An opulent collection cut from sequinned fabric, lace, velvet, fur, and heavily embellished fabric to name but a few. The models glided down the catwalk in slowing dresses or sachayed down in sequin dresses with high slits. This glamour guru is a favourite for many, as we saw from the amount of celebrities who chose to wear his creations at the BAFTA and Oscar Awards. This is one of the few designers that I don't think I need to go into details on. Genius, want them all!
Moving on to Saint Laurent.
If there was ever a collection that was me this would be it. Dresses paired with thick black tights, boots, glitter pumps and with a jacket just thrown over the top it's just me! I haven't been a huge Saint Laurent fan in the past but oh boy I am now! The velvet burst, interesting print dresses, sequinned tweedy coats, leather jackets, blazers, tartan flashes and beautiful capes!
Wonderful, wearable collection can't wait to see it in store next year.
Which shows where your favourite?
