Paris Fashion Week Day 8

Valentin Yudashkin

Geometric embellished details, lace inserts, velvet strips, ruffles, peplums, sheer panels, feather trims, it was all go at Valentin Yudashkin. Sexy glam, with a mix of pop star fashion, like the last dress on the picture above. Love the clustered embellishment details on some of the shapes, paired with velvet shapes to create yet more texture on the fabric.

With a mixture of 60's styles and floral fancies this collection seemed to be the best of both worlds. With the more casual 60's and 70's inspired pieces with fringing details and a loud prints, juxtaposing revealing floral gowns and dresses, with collar details, sheer bodies with barely there embellishment just covering the models modesty. Though the floral dresses were some what reminiscent of a few other designs this season.

Alexander McQueen, Sarah Burton's vision for this collection seemed to be a mixture of dark fairytales, Tudor and Stewart inspired and references to Midsummer's Nights Dream.

The ghoulish make up transformed the looks and creations, giving them ethereal qualities.
Heavy fur coats, velvet brocade capes, paired with structured dresses and folk inspired dresses that seemed to float over the grassy and mossy mounds that made up the catwalk. The Tudor an Stewart elements came in the shape of high collars, adding a regal tone to the collection. I loved the colour range on some of the garments with prints ranging from indigo to emerald green to royal purple. The intricate embellished dresses adding some sparkle to the collection. A wonderful collection!
