Dolce & Gabbana MFW

Where the wild things are?? I can safely say Milan, if the collections we have seen are anything to go by . . .

This Dolce & Gabbana collection is out of this world, you could even say it was from a fairyland. The enchanted forest never far from the designers mind, animals graced the garments with foxes, almost cartoon like owls and squirrels. The collection also included elements such as appliqué on lace shift dresses, huge fur hoods, bejewelled dresses, ruched silk jersey, matched with laced corsets, a heavy use of brocade and lace to top it all off. I love the use secret keys hidden in the floral prints, and as statements featured on dress and jackets.

Little Red Riding Hood seemed to appear a lot throughout this collection, appearing in a number of different ways as you can see below. Ranging from red fur hooded coats, embroidered dresses, appliqué lace skirt suits with a black fur hood, and a red fur hood paired with flowing red chiffon dresses.

The evil queen was even included in this extraordinary collection in shimmering dresses with matching jackets and encrusted gloves.

Gallant knights, then seemed to come to little red riding hoods rescue in the finale. The army of models appeared in striking and stunning heavily embellished mini dresses and play-suits. Definitely the best way to end this show.

Breathtaking!!
