London Fashion Week Day 2

Day two of London Fashion Week had more feasts for our eyes in a range of shapes and styles, from the subtle to the heavily embellished. Have a look at my top picks from all the shows that day . . .

The Orla Kiely show was just a flurry of vintage inspired styles in beautiful shades and fabrics. I love these three looks, very feminine, elegant and sophisticated. I love the peter pan collar details, the cut of the pale blue coat and the belted shirt dress. The perfect update to the ever classical vintage styles.

Next we have the tactile crushed velvet collection by designer Emilio de la Morena, I just want to touch it, so soft! This luxurious collection featured statement jackets, off the shoulder dresses, pencil skirts and trousers, all with elements of ruffles and ruching. This collection almost has the look of studio 54, with fun bright colours, and perfect cocktail dresses. This collection flashed colours such as pink, purple, crimson with a dash of cobalt blue. I've said it before but I do have a soft spot for velvet, I wouldn't like to count how many pieces I own, but these would fit in nicely.

John Rocha has gone frou frou crazy this season! With layered silk chiffon, lace, velvet in the form of oversized rosettes, with garlands and flamboyant head pieces. This collection is a mix of shapes and style, with some everyday pieces for example the lace coat above with rosette detailing paired and contrasted with more show stoppers such as the red number seen in the above image. The embroidered sheer net dress with floral details is an elegant choice for an evening soiree. The oversized velvet coat with ruffle detailing is a great choice for the more quirky individual for everyday and for stylish individuals for night.

Henry Holland's indulgent collection is another fabulous collection with bright bursts of colour. Shearling-trimmed coats in outrageous flurries of colour were thrown over to complete many a look. This is another collection that has a distinct 70's style to it with metallic tracksuit bottoms, slogan t-shirts, knee length dresses, high neck shifts paired with fur trimmed shoes. Holland's colour palette was made of acidic colours, vintage inspired flocked print, with subtle spouts of polka dots, ruffles, poodle motifs, clusters of pearls and sequins, and to top off the indulgence velvet.

Oh Julien Macdonald, what can I possible say about your shimmering gowns. This new collection provides us with dresses in all shapes and sizes with only but a few things in common and they are heavy embellishment, and barely there designs. These dresses have only embellishment and feathers to cover up your modesty, risky dresses for risky ladies, I wish I was confident enough for these dresses!

Who is your favourite designer from Day 2?
